Join a camp faculty of adaptive musicians, artists, allies, and mentors for a week of camp fun at Northern Kentucky University (NKU) in Highland Heights, Kentucky. Set in the beautiful bluegrass hills of Kentucky, NKU is conveniently located near the Greater Cincinnati Airport and just a few miles from downtown Cincinnati, Ohio, and taps into the region’s vibrant arts scene.
At CAAMC, we celebrate the creativity, skills, and perspectives that artists with disabilities bring to the arts. We welcome children and adults with physical disabilities into an inclusive community where everyone has access to grow as a musician or visual artist, unhindered by the number of fingers or hands available to create their art!
From beginners looking to access the arts for the first time to advanced students looking to refine techniques and adaptations, CAAMC is a place to learn, belong, and create together, building friendships that can last a lifetime.
Campers spend the week deep-diving into an instrument or art form of their choice, including strings, brass, guitar, woodwinds, piano, or ceramics and painting. Partnering with engineer volunteers from May We Help, faculty will develop a personalized Music Adaptation Plan (MAP) or Art Adaptation Plan (AAP) and create custom tools that support artistic expression – all while enjoying the connection, collaboration, and fun that make camp special.
